Spend another month in Five Island Cove and experience an amazing adventure between five best friends, the challenges they face, the secrets threatening to come between them, and their undying support of each other.

Eloise Hall has reached a turning point: she either wants to marry Aaron or break up. Her scientific mind gets clouded by her heart, and she decides to quit her job at Boston University and move back to Five Island Cove to fix up and open The Cliffside Inn, a building she purchased decades ago on the rocky cliffs of Sanctuary Island.

She thinks that'll show Aaron she's ready to wear a diamond and say I-do. All of the payments she's been getting...won't be coming anymore.

Kelli brings her son to the cove for another extended vacation after learning her husband has started another relationship in New Jersey. He's asked her to consider an open relationship where they stay married, and he can still see and date this other woman.

With their different personalities and in their different states of mind, none of these best friends are prepared for the secret contained within the walls of The Cliffside Inn. They've survived tough situations before, but this might be the thing that tears them apart for good...

Alice Keller comes instantly, because her mansion in the Hamptons and her husband’s infidelity is smothering her. Not only that, but Kristen has always been like a mother to her, and she wants to support her.

Eloise Hall comes quickly too, because she’s not teaching at the university this summer, and she might as well visit her mother—and the house she secretly bought years ago. Her first night on the island, she runs into an old high school crush, and a flame ignites that hasn’t been there before.

But Kelli Thompson and AJ Proctor are more resistant, and as Robin, Alice, and Eloise uncover secret after secret in the books, journals, and files in Joel’s office, Robin becomes more determined to reunite them all.

    Enjoyed It A Lot

I enjoyed this book a great deal. As other reviewers have pointed out, it was hard to keep track of all of the characters. I wrote a list of who’s who and that helped. I liked the character development. It seems that the six ladies knew each other a lot better than any of them knew Kristen’s husband Joel. It is a mystery why he left behind all of that paperwork that would reveal his hidden deeds. It seems no one really knew him, especially his wife. It was a sad story but yet these strong ladies handled the secrets and trauma very well. I would recommend this book and wish I had friends like that!

    Better and better.

Can’t wait for the next installment. I love the fact that each book advances the story of all of the women at the same time rather than having one main character per book. Next!

    Good read

I enjoyed this book. I had a hard time following all the people and who went with who and who owned which problems. It was good though. I listened to this on YouTube, so maybe it would be easier to follow all of the people in a book.

    Friends and family!

This is a story about friends and how they depend on one another. It started as a group of five and a mentor and has grown to a larger group. They welcome newcomers to the Islands into their group, as well as boyfriends and later husbands. Each woman is an independent woman, but it proves that women need friends. They all have lives and families and the usual problems we all face. They help one another when needed but they are not afraid to challenge one another if the need arises. Good women’s fiction.

    Secrets can be disastrous.

I’m looking forward to reading more stories about this group of friends who were like sisters while growing up. Then as they left the island to get on with their lives they sorta drifted apart. Only Robin continued to live there. With the death of the husband of the couple who nurtured these girls during their teens they returned to the island for the funeral. Secrets then surfaced that affected all of them.

forget the dust and dishes!! You won’t put this one down!!

I could not put this book down!! When through, there was the first two chapters of book 2. I did not know there were going to be 5 books! Now I have to wait for the rest to come out..dang! Great plot, super and important to me, no graphic sex! I am so tired of starting a book, liking it, only to find out the author only knows one word..”f!!!” which appears almost on every page and lots of sex. I wish there was some way those of us who would rather read a super book than the others could know contents before getting the book. I am finally wising up to the authors who write for those of you who enjoy the sex pages…that’s fine by me, and as I learn the authors who cater to you, I stay away from their books. Ms. Newton gave me lots of pleasure with The Lighthouse and I can hardly wait for the others to follow. Thank you , Jessica, I have put you on the pedestal with Wendy Wax, BBFrank, Inglath Cooper and others like them.

Another great story of 8 women – supporting each other and always there for each other! A few scary moments out in a storm in a sailboat with the mask broken in half with the young teen Seafaring girls and their leader – but such determination from one friend of the leader as soon as she gets the distress text for help!! I’ve boughten all the Five Island Cove books and now looking forward to reading the last one!!

A well written, thoughtful book. The friendship between these women is deep and abiding. Everyone should have lifelong friends like these. The storyline shows just how much can be withstood when a friendship runs so deep. Kristens life is turned upside down by her husband Joels death and the secrets uncovered. Her girls, five women she cared for during their teenage years, come home to the island to help her through.

    I love these women!

I love the see girl series and I hope that she continues to write more books after book #8. I’m not ready to let go of the ladies yet. I think they’re stories have more to be told. Their kids graduation from college and getting married, having children of their own. The story can continue for a quite a while yet.

    Friendship and Life

It was such fun returning to this series. It was like meeting up with a bunch of close friends I had not seen in awhile. I enjoyed catching up with the girls and finding out about their lives and all of the surprises, heartaches, and drama. I enjoyed all of it. I liked that parts of the story made me happy, parts of it made me sad, and parts of it had my heart pounding and quickly turning the pages. It was also interesting to find out who had returned to the island and why they were returning. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Lovely story with charming and heart touching friendships

I enjoyed this book so much, and found myself reading straight through to the end! It was interesting to learn about each of these ladies, the triumphs, the ups and downs of their lives, and the love they all shared with each other. Having moved from one end of the US to the other and then marrying a USN man and moving to a number of Naval bases, I have always wondered what it would be like to have life long friends. I did however enjoy meeting people from all over, and always was lucky to find a few special friends each place we lived, and it was wonderful to live in so many varied and beautiful areas. I guess I’m a gypsy at heart, but I always wondered…….and now maybe I know. Thank you so much, Jessie Newton! Back in the day we didn’t have the internet, it was snail mail or expensive long distance phone calls, moving all the time made it very difficult to keep in touch. Book 2 in the series is now in my library and Book 3 is preordered. I strongly recommend giving this series a read, all the little twists and turns and surprises will have you captivated.

    another great book

another great book in the seafaring girls series. The support that runs through these pafes shows you what friendship is meant to be like and how to embrace the support that comes with so much friendship. These lasies rally together and around each other when one is weak the rest are there to pickup the pieces. It is so heartfelt and meanful to have a group od ladies as your backup. I felt pulled into the book. I couldn’t put it down. I felt like i was apart of this group. i definitely recommend.

Five life-long friends who stick together through everything. They refused to be intimidated by Eloise’s greedy brother, Garrett, even though the money would have helped each of them in significant ways. This is the first I’ve read in this series—I don’t make it a point to read in order.

    A great story

I enjoyed this book about women who were close friends in high school and come back home again for a funeral for Joel, who was married to a beloved older woman figure. Reading about their personalities and seeing how they picked up their friendships decades later kept me turning the pages. The scenery and the lighthouse added to this entertaining read and so did unraveling some secrets Joel had taken with him to the grave.

    Clean story about relationships

I don’t quite know what to say about this book. It’s really kind of a strange story. I thought it was supposed to be a Christian story but faith never entered into the story. The secrets that caused such angst weren’t really all that bad. The ending was too abrupt for my taste. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading this book and forming their own opinion but I’m not sure I’d read another one by this author. The main character who died turned out to be a despicable man who adversely impacted the remaining characters lives. I still gave this 5 stars. Read it and form your own opinion.

wonderful story set at Christmas that’s part of a heartwarming series

CHRISTMAS AT THE COVE is the fourth book in the FIVE ISLAND COVE series. It was nice to be back, reuniting with characters we’ve met before and meeting new ones. Watching the friendships evolve, new love interests and children getting older was only a small part of the story. There are family dynamics to work through, offers that are too good to be true, businesses and lives going in new directions and all set during the Christmas season. I like the new traditions that the friends started but also how they were all there for each other. When there are surprises thrown in as the story unfolded it kept my interest more focused. It was nice to get to know the characters better especially AJ. But each of their friends brought their individual strengths to the table and I like how they embraced Laurel and included her into their friendship circle. The cover drew me in and didn’t disappoint. Their was a heartwarming feeling that was woven throughout the story but also the strengths of each of the women shown through. There is nice closure and an abundance of happily ever afters in the offing. The sneak peeks of the next book in the series, THE HOUSE ON SEABREEZE SHORE, really drew me in and left me wanting more.Ms. Newton is a writer who wrings emotions from her characters but shows the strength of women, their friendships and the families behind them. I look forward to reading more of her books.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.

    Five Island Cove Reunion

The Lighthouse is a story filled with desires, the desire of Robin to reunite with her friends from the Seafaring Girls and her desire to comfort Kristen after the death of her husband, Joel Shields. The four friends agree to come to Five Island Cove, some willingly and others reluctantly. In the course of their interactions they discover secrets that cause them to question their relationships with each other and with the man who was so prominent in their lives. It is a story that reveals how each of the women feel about their lives and follows their journeys throughout this time. A heartwarming story that is well written by Jessie Newton. Not an easy story as it explores how deeply unhappy people can be in spite of all the success that they have achieved but it also shows that when brought to the surface circumstances and feelings can be changed. Awesome book

Totally enjoyed this series but sad I have to wait almost a year before I get the next book. It really makes it harder to pick up where you left off after so long. Plus characters are forgotten.

    Surprises, struggles and changes

This is the fourth book of this amazing series and it brings some big surprises. I really enjoy the way the friends take care of each other when hard issues and hard times come. I love the waythe men in their lives know how much their friends need each other. I like the way the women deal with their teenagers and how some of the discussions are hard. I enjoyed every part of this story and can hardly wait for the next one.(I received an advance reader copy through Booksprout. This is my honest review.)

    another great book

another great book in the seafaring girls series.

    Love this book.

I really like Five Island Cove Series. When I finished the first book I knew I just had to get the Summer Sand Pact to see what happened with the characters in the story. I am now reading the third book in the series. I know it won’t take me long to finish it but I have to wait until December to get book number four, and I have to wait until March 2021 to get book five. ????

    I think strong female friendships

are wonderful…. maybe because I grew up with my mama’s EIGHT sisters and watched their ties ebb and flow much like Kristen watches her girls. I love seeing how each one encourages and strengthens the others..

    Read it in one day!

This was a wonderful heartfelt, emotional, life learning story! I really enjoyed it. Five girlfriends in high school and now in their late 40s come together over an issue that helps them each learn about each other as well as themselves. I wish I had five friends like that! And I never thought I’d say this but I am going to search for books 2 through five! Normally I don’t like series books because the first one ends in an annoying fashion. However, this one ended with all five of the girls figuring things out going back home to make the life they want for themselves. I’m anxious to hear how each one of them fares. Normally when I read the first book, it’s not usually as decisive as this one is. Which makes me not want to bother looking for the next in the series, but I will be looking for this one

    Old and new friends

Yet again, it is great to enjoy the ups and downs of the women from island cove. It was nice to learn more about Jean and how her struggles and ability to overcome life’s challenges showed that she fit in like a puzzle piece.
