    Part of a series

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Elana Johnson did a great job writing this book. I am enjoying this series featuring ex-con men turned cowboys. This book shows some of the problems with an alcoholic ex-wife, and re-entering society with the help of friends and a Texas ranch. The characters are unique and interesting, and the plot is great.

A Touching Tale of Second Chances

I found this story to be very emotionally moving. It was not a topic that I would usually select. But, dealing with a man’s hope to change his life for the better after surviving intense life changing events really drew me in! I’m looking forward to the second book in the series!

    A must read

I was hooked from beginning to end. A sweet, christian journey about two broken & insecure people trying to overcome their pasts. This is a story filled with friendship, family, healing and love. This is book #4 in the Hope Eternal Ranch series. The series is so amazing you never want it to end! Read it! You will not be disappointed! I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    LOVED this one!

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author. This cowboy is incredibly insecure, but so sensitive to the feelings and needs of those around him. And he’s so smart and so brave. As fearful as he is, he does the scary thing to protect those he loves.

    Hope

A well done story about an ex con now divorced and with custody of his two children. He meets a woman at a wedding. Things are not smooth with his drug addicted ex wife and the thugs who are bothering him for payment. They will need time apart for him to be able to be the mand she needs. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

    Wonderful continuation to the series

Dallas Dryer, is a former surgeon, recently released from prison for white collar crime. Jessica Morales is the stable master at Hope Eternal Ranch where Dallas is using his innate talent as a mechanic on the ranch. In this, the third book in the series, (can be read as a stand-alone) the complexities of changing his life, being a single parent, creating a relationship, and dealing with an ex wife can be overwhelming for Dallas. Jessica needs to determine if a relationship, fraught with outside influences, is worth the effort. Honest, well written character development, with a strong sense of family, friendship, life changes, recognition of past mistakes and forgiveness.

    Another hit by Ms Johnson

This was the first time I have read a book based on someone in a minimum security prison and then released to someplace else with less law enforcement, but serving out their sentence. Beside that, I really was hooked on the interesting plot line and as always enjoy Johnson’s (Isaacson’s) stories. I will definitely have to read more of this series and highly recommend it!

    Slate and Jill’s love story

What can I say, each story of this series just gets better and better.I don’t want the Mulberry boys to end. But they must or Nate would have to still be in Prison.I love these characters, all are so well defined. Most are so lovable.Slate and Jill at the top of that list.Slate, as with any inmate, has some “on the outside” issues to deal with. Some outside forces some in his insides. Jill, well living in the shadows of a perfect sister is a tough one. Even if the sister really isn’t all that perfect. The only thing about this story I would have like to see, more about why Jill was broke, lost her friends, left collage and feels like she’s an embarrassment to her parents. (She’s not by the way)I don’t really tell in my reviews the gist of the story as I hate reading the story in a review. I want to read it fresh and exciting. This one is one of my favorite stories written by this author.I know I say that often, but that’s because she out does herself with each new story. (Most of the time)Good clean read, by a Christian author. Not necessarily a Christian read, but most certainly the characters are looking to God for guidance.I know you will enjoy this story and the series

Strong characters in a clean romance

This is the third book in this series and I really enjoyed it. Dallas and Jess are a great couple, and his kids are super sweet. The man went to prison for a white collar crime and he paid for the crime in more than one way. He comes out a different man than went in, different in a good way. He is a good man with good morals who just wants to live his life and love his kids. He and Jess have some difficult conversations and some very tough stuff to work through before they can be together. This book has lessons for all of us and I really enjoyed the story line and the strong characters. This author always has great books that I really enjoy.

    Exceptional Read

Dallas was going to get a second chance at love it he was lucky. Gone to prison for a crime he did not know he committed, his wife divorced him while he was in prison and left their children behind, he lost his medical license to practice, and now he was out with two kids to take care of. What was he going to do? First he was going to his friend’s wedding at Hope Eternal Ranch, where he meets Jessica Morales the horse trainer at the ranch. They shoot sparks off each other at their very first meeting. She does help him get a job at ranch as new head mechanic. They try to have a relationship, but it goes through many, many ups and downs as Dallas still issues with his ex-wife. The kids have problems from him being in prison and their mom leaving them. Is there any room in Dallas’s life for Jess? There are days that he was not sure which way was up. He was just trying to build a new life. Set down and hang on tight until the end, have a little faith, because Dallas will eventually get it all figured out, but you have to read the book to get answer.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed reading this book and the first two in this series. The love for one another was very special. Everyone was accepted for who they were. With all troubles the ranch atmosphere l

and their faith in God helped them let go of the past and move forward to future. Throw in a clean romance and Elana Johnson can create an enjoyable read.

    An Awesome Cowboy Holiday Romance!!

Charming, beautifully written, and hopelessly romantic. Isnt it just so great when you find one of those books that completely drags you in, makes you fall in love with the characters, and demands that you sit on the edge of your seat for every nail-biting moment of it? This is one of those books for me. Read this series. You won’t be disappointed.

Dallas, Jess, Thomas and Remmy’s story

I just love 2nd Chance story’s. And this series too. Sometimes as I’m reading my heart just breaks for the characters. This one of the series has a few extra twists that I didn’t expect. It’s hard having been married with kids. Because you are always tied to that other parent. And sometimes it’s just HARD for a second chance to happen.Dallas still having feelings for the mother of his kids could be a problem. Along with just getting out of prison, then there is Jess’s family And so much more. Will Dallas and Jess get their HEA????‍♀️ Of course. But what will they have to do to make it happen? It’s a really good safe read.Enjoy.

    A Great Read!

My review today is on the Romance , Hopeful Cowboy: A Mulbury Boys Novel. This is book one in the Hope Eternal Ranch Romance Series. I enjoyed this book. I have never read any of Elana’s work before but I really liked this one and look forward to reading more of her books. The story is well written and heartwarming. I know you are going to love it.Nathaniel Mulbury is in prison on a white collar crime. He has done everything he can to not cause trouble so he can get out as soon as possible. One day he is called into the office and his whole world is turned upside down. He is told his beloved brother has died and has left him everything including his four year old son. They are giving him an early release but he must go to a ranch that will be a halfway house for him and the child. Nate doesn’t know how to be a cowboy or a father but he is willing to learn. His only concern is the beautiful woman that will be in charge of him. He has no time for a woman in his life.Ginger Talbot had taken convicts before, one turned out to steal her money and almost got the ranch. She’s not sure what to do about the attraction she feels for Nate. She will not be hurt again. There is something different about Nate though and who could help but fall for that adorable little boy.A great journey of second chances. God has a plan for these three; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Make Him Lord in your life and He will get you through these trying times.

Don’t be the same man leaving as you were coming in!

Nate is living in a low security facility for stealing money. Ginger agrees to let him work on her ranch until he finishes his sentence. Ginger has had men on her ranch before in the Residential Reentry Program. In fact one of those men stole from her and ended up back in prison. So she has no intention of getting close to Nate, but she can’t let him go through the pain of loosing his brother and becoming his son’s guardian by himself. A sweet story about being a better man and forgiving yourself for the bad choices you made.

    What a great place!

Dallas just got of prison and was on his way to the wedding of a former inmate. Hope Eternal Ranch is the destination – more or less. When he arrives and meets Jess, she gives him a tour of the ranch. When they step into the barn, they realize that the AC is off. She goes to see what kind of repairing tools they have, and he finds the AC parts he needs and repairs it. When he did that, Jess decided to contact her employer to see if she can offer him the job as the ‘fix-it’ guy for the ranch. She offers and he takes the job.Certain things from his past keep popping up and causing problems where Jess and Dallas are concerned. Things like an ex-wife, two kids and drug addiction and a few other minor things. Can they work through it?

Jill is feeling desperate and overwhelmed by her situation when he finds her on the beach screaming. Imagine his surprise when he finds her on the ranch. Slate is struggling to find his next step in this new life opportunity. At least he has his former prison mates to help old him up. A heartwarming book about love and faith. Hope Eternal

Hope Eternal Ranch becomes the storyline for this second chance romance suspense. Great characters and terrific locale combine for a well rounded story. Even the ex-wife gets involved by sending the drug dealers, etc after her ex for money she owes, creating some suspense. The father and two kids get closer at the ranch and all form a bond with the horse wrangler. All the aspects of a great book, along with all the emotions to keep you on edge.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    a splendid Christian,exciting read

This is a first read of Elana Johnson’s works… and look forward to reading more of her books.well written and heartwarming. I’m pretty sure you are going to love it also. This is a fantastic clean romance between Nate and Ginger.Ginger owns and runs Hope Eternal Ranch where a lot of the high society type prisoners nearing their releases from a minimum security prison finish their sentences at the ranch. There are however rules they have to obey, and they have to work on the ranch as cowboys/cowhands.while they server out their sentence they receive pay for the hours worked and a room to stay in.Nate gets some very sad news and so he gets released to the ranch the day he finds out that his brother died and left all he owned to Nate, including being the guardian for his four-year old son, Connor.Nate never did anything like a cowboy but soon he came learned and came to love the ranch and all the people who lived and worked at the ranch especially Ginger.Ginger Talbot had taken ex-cons before, sadly one turned out to steal her money and almost got hold of her ranch. Now she’s not sure what to do about the attraction she is feeling for Nate. She promised herself ..NEVER…again will she allow her heart to be hurt again. However there is just something about Nate that she finds herslef faling in love and then their is his adorable little boy/ nephew.I believe this story is about a journey of second chances. God has a plan for these three; a plan for a hope and a future. and I pray you realize God has a plan for you too, a plan that is good and not for evil. Make Him Lord in your life and He will get you through any and everything.

Not only is the story unique but it is full of real life struggles not flimsy love /hate scenarios. I won’t go into the, but they put the story in perspective.I love horses so I always critique how information about horses is handled. Everything here was spot on. The author must have very personal and wide experience with horses. This was just an enjoyable story about a rather prickly woman, a wounded man, and the love that matures them both.

I loved this story. It’s not realistic that Ginger would fall for 2 ex cons, but Nate is a good guy. He prob shouldn’t have kept secret what he was doing if it wasn’t against the law, but I guess there’s no story without that. Great characters.

Wonderful second chance at life story

Slate and Jill are just a wonderful couple with so much to learn from each other. Slate has a very dark past and even though he has spent 4 years trying to change himself and make sure he isn’t that man anymore he is still afraid. Jill has a lot of turmoil in her life and she is trying to hold her head up and navigate past mistakes with what is going on in the here and now. I don’t want to give away the story. This is a well written book with wonderful characters and I love how all the stories before theirs are just as important in this book as the main characters. This is a series and while they can be read as stand alone it is much better if they are read in order. I like this group of characters, they each bring something to the story and are just genuine people. I like that they are hard working people with issues to be worked through. Enjoyed it from beginning to end.

A second chance with a culinary twist

This was a second chance with a culinary twist. Ever since the first book in the Hope Eternal Ranch series, I’ve been intrigued by Spencer and wanted to know his story. And yay! I finally get my wish. What Clarissa and Spencer had, was cut short by some poorly chosen words long ago. Have they grown beyond what used to hurt, or will the same old patterns pull them apart again? I read the original short story this book grew out of and it solved the only complaint I had: the short story was too short. I wanted more time with Spencer and Clarissa, and this gave it to me. We got to watch them get to know one another and learn forgiveness for the past actions that broke them apart in the first place. Along with all the cameos from the Mulbury Boys and their new families, I loved learning about the Cooper family and Sweet Water Falls Farm. I can’t wait to read even more about them.I received a complimentary advanced copy of this story from the author.

    Going home is healing

Christmas Cowboy will take you on an emotional ride that wouldn’t fit on any map! Slate and Jill find love, lose it and he leaves the ranch for months before coming home. All 5 of the cowboys that have came to Hope Eternal Ranch from prison where they had plenty of time to get their lives back to showing how good of men they are now has made excellent cowboys and hard workers willing to do whatever needed doing on the ranch. The Mulbury Boys had defiantly stood together and become thicker than blood while serving their time in River Bay prison. Though they are no longer businessmen as they were before going to prison, they are hard working cowboys that love their families and will be there at just a phone call to help each other out. Luke wanted to leave to do construction work and after Slate had a visitor from his past he left Hope Eternal Ranch with Luke to keep them safe. But, months later Luke got tired of Slate’s depression even though they both worked on a construction site everyday in Colorado in snow. He tells him to go back home. Slate is scared, but he needed to hear Luke tell him to do it. It turns out to be one of the best decisions he ever makes. And like the story in the Bible of the Prodigal Son, he is welcomed back home, especially by Jill. Slate has a lot of apologizing to do to get back in Jill’s good graces. One was he had to agree to be the Cowboy Santa Claus for their very first Christmas festival at Hope Eternal Ranch.

The Hope Eternal Ranch Series is Great!

This is another book about second chances. Slate’s college addiction to pain killers leads him to Federal Prison after errors at his banking job. When he is released he heads to Hope Eternal Ranch for a job with the friends he made in prison. There he meets and falls in love with Jill who is dealing with paying back debts from college and her mother’s cancer diagnosis. Both have family issues that have to be resolved and Slate has to realize that he is no longer the same person that was a junkie. All the characters in this series are more mature and they have flaws that they are working through while seeking God’s help. I like being able to catch up on the characters from the other books and see how they are growing. You will love this new romance by Elana Johnson.

    Deep friendships and true love!

Slate and Jill could not have had a more unusual meet-cute at the shores of the Gulf of Mexico as Slate, a recent ex-con who was working at Hope Eternal Ranch, rescued Jill from the depths of despair and then realized that she was one of the staff members at the ranch. When your life has taken some tough turns, it is easier to understand and befriend someone else who is going through hard times rather than a “perfect” person. I enjoyed their story as they came to understand, support and then love one another. One of my favorite parts of the book is the way that the Mulbury Boys are there for one another, getting into one another’s business out of their deep concern and care for one another. His new normal

Rugged Cowboy is another story of life and love on Hope Eternal ranch. Dallas was another man that was in prison that used to be a heart surgeon. Because one of his patient died they sued him and the hospital for malpractice and the sister had him sign a insurance paper he didn’t read and he was charged for insurance fraud. Shows how easy a person could lose their life in the flash of an eye. He gets out right before Nate and Ginger’s wedding and brings his two kids with him. While at the wedding, Jess texts Emma and then Ginger to see if they could give Dallas a job. She was smitten with Dallas and so was Dallas with Jess. They hire Dallas as the mechanical supervisor for all the machines that run on the ranch. This gives Jess and Dallas time to be together and she gets to be with the kids in her horse riding classes. Everything is going great until his ex-wife sends her dope dealer to get money from Dallas. This puts a kink in life and brings the Mulbury boys from prison back together to fix this situation. This story has enough turns and suspense to keep you turning pages wondering what their next step will be.

This book kept my interest to the very end. I don’t often read all the words in a book but I did this one. There were some two tissue parts in Hopeful Cowboy which added to the way life goes. I extremely recommend this book.

Enjoyed being with this author again. Teddy and Emma story was a redemption story. Both had trust issues to workout. But Teddy became Emma kniht in a cowboy hat. She was his confidant and help at first. But her confidence wained for awhile. Teddy and her daughter Missy gave Emma a second chance at a new life. God was in the picture as well. Looking forward to reading more in the series soon.

    Second chances

I enjoy these books about people getting a second chance in life. We all need multiple chances as we don’t always make wise decisions. Slate got hooked on drugs when he was given pain pills for an injury. His life spiraled out of control until he wound up in a minimum security prison. Jill works at the ranch that helps rehabilitate guys when they leave prison. Jill had her own secrets involving a past relationship and the financial hardship she was facing now. They fell madly in love but circumstances from his past caused him to run from the ranch. Where does he flee to? What happens with his relationship with Jill? Does he mend things with his own family? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review.

    Redeeming Grace

I like these cowboy redemption stories. We need more places like Hope Eternal Ranch in real life. Jess has worked at the ranch for about 12 years working with the horses. Dallas was a heart surgeon who had a patient die and the family sued for malpractice. He signed some paperwork without reading them and ended up being charged with fraud and served time in a minimum security prison. His best friends from there had wound up at Hope Eternal Ranch and one of them was getting married when he got released. He went to the wedding and they offered him a job fixing all the machinery. His ex-wife had taken off and dropped their children at her sisters. She got tangled up in drugs and a bad gang. Jess and Dallas had sparks, but Dallas’s priorities were his children and getting his ex in rehab as a gang had come after him to pay for the debts of his ex. Lots of interesting side stories and side characters. Will things work out for Jess and Dallas or will he get back with his ex? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review.

    Love and Relationships

The most important thing in this novel is all the references to God. The characters also show how problems exist in families in real time. Loved how the relationship developed between Jill and slate and how state’s character changes.

Where you find hope and recovery.

I love the Hope Eternal Ranch series and this newest one is no exception. I love the way everyone on the ranch tries to care for everyone else – even to setting someone up for a date. Most of these men were in prison and were sent to this ranch to help them get used to being free again. The characters are very well defined, and I love that it isn’t all mushy. (I like some mush, though!) This story shows how hard it can be to get used to making your own decisions after being in prison. The ladies enjoy helping the guys to see that they are worthy of love. I hope you will enjoy this – I certainly have.(I received an advance reader copy through Booksprout. This is my honest review.)

    Overprotective and in love

Beautiful story of a ranch that heals. Well it seems that way. Emma falling for Ted and Ted falling for Emma. When you’ve been in prison for no matter how long it’s hard to get your life on track whether that’s a prison of your own making or a real prison. Loved this story. Hearts can heal.

    A very well written book!

Both Slate and Jill have stories of their life to tell each other and they come out one by one. The surprises never end and the road isn’t always smooth sailing but sometimes it takes a bit of time for things to come together in “their own time”. This book was well written and contributes well to this great series. Each one builds on another but are independent of each other, too. Put this series on your reading list! You won’t be disappointed!

    Realistic problems

The characters in Rugged Cowboy are realistic and well rounded. I related to Jess so well. I like that Dallas and Jess didn’t instantly fall in love, but took some time, got to know each other, and built a relationship. The problems, insecurities, and family issues were true to life. It was great seeing Jess and Dallas figure out their problems and fall in love.

    New Twist on Cowboy Romances

You had me from the first chapter! As soon as I read about a man appreciating his view from his new “dormitory” and I turned the page and BAM! It’s not college; this is prison! Then this same man goes to Hope Eternal Ranch to finish his sentence. I’ll tell you, I was hooked on the first book and read through all of the series! They are all unique and such great romance! I love how you get to know each of the characters’ personalities. No flat characters here; they get under your skin and make you think and cry and smile. I also really like how the prisoners who go to the Ranch aren’t natural born cowboys. But they are good workers and catch on fast. Such a fabulous series! Make sure you have the next one queued up, because you’ll want to jump right on into it! There’s always a sneak peak of the next story, too. And it’s about someone you’ve already met in previous books. Excellent writing!

This is my favorite in this series – so far!!! Jill and Slate are an adorable couple as well awesome people individually. I can’t quite put my finger on why this my favorite book in this series but even the angst didn’t ruffle my feathers like normal – in most books. It seemed to me to be needed. They both have things going on that they are dealing with. Their story just touched my heart and kept me engaged and reading until the very last page. I was left smiling but a little sad that it was at the end. Great addition to the series!!! gotta read

White collar crime with deep regrets and an amazing ability to create a group in a very low security prison. He gets to go finish his sentence at a ranch due to needing to parent his now orphaned nephew. This is a nice clean (no steam) romance. A sweet man with a past, and a woman who doesn’t feel worthy!!

I just love this series, this one is about a VERY sweet cowboy who hates Christmas, Slate has to get over his past, as we all do, his haunts him, He seems to enjoy Jill and likes her so much, she is a fun loving sweet girl, with her own set of issues from her past, but mainly she suffers from not feeling good enough. But Slate cannot really give his all to Jill until he faces his demons. The question them becomes, will he? Or will he let Jill go for good? This is a clean book, and I love how Ms. Johnson seems to weave a story that keeps your interest and the characters seem so real. I love that you get a peek into the former character’s lives, but all of these can be read stand alone. I LOVE the relationships and friendships in this series with the men especially, it seems we don’t often get a peek into how the male bond works in most books. I just love this group of men, and each new book the male lead has become my favorite! I am also so happy to read about the main character’s families, as it gives so much context into why they are how they are. Jill’s sister is a BRAT, but one I loved to hate!! Another great book by Elana Johnson!! I would recommend this for SURE!

    Fun, Clean Cowboy Romance

A fun cowboy romance. Two people unsure of themselves bump into each other–literally–at a friend’s wedding. Dallas, fresh from prison with two kids and an ex wife on the run, is instantly attracted to Jess. Only, he hasn’t dated in many years and hopes he knows how to be with a woman again. I love the continuing update on the couples and friends at Hope Eternal Ranch–1 happy community with distinctly different personalities, but always there in a pinch to help each other. These books are about second chances. Just out of prison, Dallas brings his two children to Hope Eternal Ranch for a wedding and ends up getting a job. He and Jess have an almost instant attraction. But Dallas needs to get some counseling not only for his kids but also for himself and he needs to stop trying to save his ex-wife. Jess has dated a lot and is ready to settle down but she’s not sure that Dallas is ready to move on. Two Wounded Souls Help Each Other

I love this author’s writing style. I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to feel about a story that centered around someone who had been in prison, especially a Christmas book. But I can’t seem to pass up any holiday books when I see them at my favorite book review sites. I am so glad I picked this one up. The author’s writing style is immersive, and she shares what goes on in the minds and hearts of the viewpoint characters. Both halves of the couple were wounded souls, broken in different ways, who found friendship and fellowship with each other. I also really liked the secondary characters. Unusual for a romance, we got to see the strong bonds between the men who had shared time in prison. I liked the way they took care of each other. I found this to be a surprisingly excellent read.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Another visit to Hope Eternal Ranch and the wide range of characters who live or pass through there. Slate Sanders completed his sentence and is working at Hope trying to figure out who he is now that he isn’t a drug addict – what does he want to be and do now that his addiction doesn’t govern him and neither does prison. Love tries to open him up and begins to make changes but fear of returning to the life that nearly destroyed him pushes bad choices ahead of wisdom. A little gritty at times but honest approach to what is a widespread problem – depending on substances to dull the pain of life. Could Slate realize he was a good person inside and would Jill be his love forever?

Slate got out of prison and came to Hope Eternal Ranch to try to transition back into the world where a few of the other people he had spent time with in prison too. It was a great environment and everyone there got along with no judgement toward each other. Jill lived at Hope Eternal Ranch too because she had no where to go when she came back home from leaving college with massive debt that she was trying very hard to pay off. She loved it here and when Slate showed up he immediately caught her eye but she knew he was different. Slate saw Jill too but knew he just wasn’t good enough for her or was he, could he put all of his demons to rest and finally get on with his life and would she be the final person to help him get to his happily ever after?

My favorite in the series so far!

loved the heart of the main male character in this book. He was a prominent surgeon who became entangled in an insurance fraud case and served time, losing his license to practice medicine as well. His wife whom he loved abandoned their children at her sister’s home and was unfaithful to him as she became a drug addict and an alcoholic. When he got out of prison, he had a lot on his shoulders as he picked up the pieces of his life but he did it. And even though his wife was not interested in returning to the family, he continued to care for her welfare. In my book, he was a pretty extraordinary man. This is the story of how he made a new life for himself and it is well worth a read. Highly recommend! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Doing whatever he has to for him to be free

The Hopeful Cowboy is a strong emotional story of Nate, a convict that was arrested by getting into investment fraud. His mistake put him in prison and he was getting out early for good behavior. When they move the release date up they inform him in the middle of the night that his brother that had stood behind him through all this had been killed in an accident. The will left everything to Nate including the sweet 4 year old little boy Connor. He is released to Hope Eternal Ranch in the custody of the owner Ginger to finish out his 6 months and they allow Connor to live with him. All the people working the ranch take time caring for Connor. But, due to someone from Nate’s past coming back into his life it cost him his freedom. While everybody wanted him back on the work release program even the prison director they decide he would be better at Hope Eternal Ranch if Ginger will take him back and they put him back to 6 months before his sentence is complete. He makes the most of his time with Connor and Ginger and is glad he is on his way to freedom. He wants to be a good father and one day hopefully a husband so Connor will have a complete family.

    Exceptional Read

Slate Sanders was a changed man after his time in prison and the Hope Eternal Ranch, where he was released to finish the last few months of his prison sentence. It was the same place some of his friends before him had been released too and still worked. We were introduced to some amazing characters in this story. Several we had met before, but many new ones. One new person was Jill Kyle, whom Slate met one morning down on the beach when she was having a meltdown after her parents had told her and her siblings that her mother had cancer and what the treatment plan contained. After that Slate and Jill started hanging out some until they eventually started seeing each other. This time around more of the extended family for both Slate and Jill were brought into the story to add greater dimension and depth. Slate had a great many unresolved issues in his life making for a very turbulent relationship ride for Jill. It did make for excellent reading as I could not put this book down until I finished it.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Christmas Cowboy not just for Christmas!

I have enjoyed each story in this series centering around Hope Eternal Ranch and the lives that are transformed and healed there. When Slate arrives from prison, he is happy to join his friends Nate, Ted, Luke, and Dallas–all who met and grew a strong bond in prison. He keeps his head down and does his job while trying to figure out who he is and what he’s supposed to be doing with the rest of his life. Slate is a recovering addict who also hates Christmas and one day meets Jill (a ranch employee) at the beach as she is dealing with her mother’s cancer. He sees a woman in need and comes to her rescue. I love their relationship of helping each other as they dealing with past hurts. As Slate tries to decide where his future leads, will he stay at the ranch with Jill? And what about the plans he’s made with Luke? I love how this story interweaves the lives of past stories and characters in this series and evolves around the theme of second chances. Christmas Cowboy is a wonderful clean romance, suitable to read any time of year! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

    Fantastic Clean Romance

I loved this book by Elana Johnson so much that I read it in one day. This is a fantastic clean romance between Nate and Ginger. Ginger owns and runs Hope Eternal Ranch where prisoners nearing their releases from a minimum security prison finish their sentences at the ranch. There are rules they have to obey, and they have to work on the ranch as cowboys. They receive pay for their hours worked and a room to stay in. Nate is released to the ranch the day he finds out that his brother died and left all he owned to Nate including being the guardian for his four-year old son, Connor. Nate had never worked as a cowboy but learned to love the ranch and all the people who lived and worked at the ranch especially Ginger. Did Nate complete his sentence and did he, Connor, and Ginger become a family? You will have to read the book to find out. I highly recommend this must read book. It is a standalone book even though it is the start of a series.

    A New Normal

That’s what Dallas and Jess hope to find but they aren’t sure if that includes them still together. When you’ve had as many “life events” in a short time like Dallas, it’s overwhelming. His life changed in an instant

I loved Nate and Ginger’s story! But when he decided to settle his past without telling her, I wanted to scream “Noooo” at him. Like he was my son and I could stop him! Elana’s stories make the characters feel like family.

Another Hope Eternal Cowboy finds love.

Loved being with the Mulbury boys again. Slate and Jill story was special. Slate had a background that needed to be dealt with.Jill became his anchor. Even though he had to deal with his past to come back to her. He had a great group of guys to help him along the way. Jill had a great girlfriends and parents to encourage her too. Looking forward to reading the last in the series.

This is such a well written and wonderful story. Dallas always new that when he got out he had his wife and kids waiting for him, but a few weeks before he was given divorce papers and when he got out he found out that his kids was with his sister and the ex had gone off the deep end of life. Dallas had to start over and he was not sure where to go and what to do but he new that he would find his way. Jessica has worked on the ranch for a very long time, and when Dallas showed up and new how to fix some of the broken down items she hired him to be the maintenance man for all the farm equipment. Now will Dallas and Jessica find love, Will Dallas’s children learn to love their new life, will Dallas’s ex get in the way. Pick up a copy of the heart warming book and find out. I really enjoy this Author

    Love forever

It was obviously evident from the beginning that they were meant for each other. True love is not as true as some people believe, but sometimes miss read. Faith in each is the true basis.
