Description
A wounded Army cowboy, a divorcée with a child, and their second chance to heal old hurts…
After an injury ends his time in the Army, Squire Ackerman returns to his family’s ranch in Three Rivers to manage it.
Kelly Armstrong, a recently divorced single mother, has come to interview for an accountant position at the ranch. Squire and Kelly have a history together, as Squire asked her to the prom years ago and never got an answer. He still harbors feelings for her but is determined to maintain distance to protect himself from getting hurt again.
Once Kelly is hired at the ranch, her presence brings back too many good memories, and Squire finds himself longing for the connection they once had. As they spend more time together, Squire tries to keep his emotions in check and maintain control over their interactions. His military training helps him keep a stoic façade, but the more time he spends with her, the harder it is for him to ignore his feelings for Kelly.
As Squire and Kelly work to save the ranch and navigate their complicated relationship, can they also give love a second chance, follow God’s plan for them, and build a family out of heartache?

I really love this story. It’s clean, no cussing or sexual content. Plain old romance out the wazoo, kindness, mystery and some frustration all fit together perfectly for a great read.

I have read most of this author’s series and loved everyone of them. I had somehow missed this one. Squire was mentioned in several other series and I had wondered about his story. He and Kelly had known each other as teens. He was her best friend’s younger brother and he had crushed on her. He asked her to her senior prom, he was a sophomore. She never responded to his invitation, so he nursed a broken heart for ten years. He went to war, she married someone else. The both returned to Three Rivers broken and really not looking for love, but oh did it find them. It took a while and each had to learn to trust. Loved Squire and Finn together and the fact that Squire wanted to be Finn’s dad.I have to say this one touched me in a very personal way. Back in the 60’s when girls didn’t ask boys out, I asked a younger guy to go to the prom with me. He turned me down. Six years later we started dating and come January we will be married 49 years.

I really enjoyed this book and am in the process of reading the rest of the books in this series. The author keeps you entertained and wanting to see what happens next. I also enjoyed the Christian aspect of the book and not having all of the sexual moments. I can’t wait to read other series she has written when I am done with this series.

Author Liz Isaacson offers up a military/cowboy hero. The book has plenty of action, mystery about missing money, healing of past hurts and of course romance! You’ll enjoy getting to know more about a couple who had secret crushes on one another in high school. Now as adults they both have returned to their hometown and Three Rivers Ranch.

Kelly comes back to town after a divorce with her 4 year old son from California and is living with the demons of why she had to divorce Taylor. She is living in her parents basement and needs to get a job. She is given the opportunity to start as an Accountant at her best friends ranch. What she doesn’t expect is that her best friend no longer lives there but her parents and brother do. Squire is just home from the Army and has his own demons to deal with. They neither expect that they still have unspoken feelings for one another. As Kelly helps Squire figure out a huge problem with the finances they develop a friendship that only they can share and develop. When Kelly finds herself in trouble Squire is there to help! What a great clean story of love lost and love found – without all of the “extra” wording that is not necessary when true love is involved! One you would not mind sharing with your daughter!

Loved being introduced to the Three Rivers Ranch. First book is about Squire, former military, now cowboy, son of the ranch owner. He is back but running the ranch is not what he wants to do – he wants to be a veterinarian and run the ranch. Going back to school is the easy part, finding the money to pay for it is another story. He knows his GI Bill will pay for some, but not all, of the schooling. Being a veterinarian is not the only secret he is keeping from his dad. There is 1.6 million dollars missing from the ranch funds and he needs to find it. In steps Kelly, former Squire crush, and girl that broke his heart. She is fresh off a divorce and needs a job. Just so happens the ranch needs a new accountant. Together they are working to find the money and together, they might find a little bit more. A great, clean read and cannot wait to see what happens next at the ranch.

After his deployment, injury and discharge, Major Squire Ackerman returned home to Three Rivers Ranch to take over so his parents can retire. He finds a huge amount of money is missing, so accountant Kelly is hired to find it. She is divorced and living in her parents basement with her four year old son. She was a school friend of his sister, and he had a crush on her in High School. The plot of this book includes issues of trust, second chances, and self-concept.

I loved the main characters and enjoyed their story. I’ve lived in the South all my life, and I’ve never heard anyone use “ya’ll” to mean only one person as happened here. “Taught” was used for “teach” and “quick” for “quickly,” but it was a good book.

I love Liz Isaacson, her novels are truly wonderful! It is hard to find an author who can distinguish between a Christian Romance Novel and a Contemporary Romance Novel, but Ms. Isaacson does it and she does it well! I highly recommend every novel that I have read, and I hope that every novel I plan to read in the future is of the same quality!”Second Chance Ranch” is a story of love, redemption, and second chances (obviously since it is found in the title). Squire and Kelly have a love story that is not typically for most romance authors, it is different without being too different. When you dive into this story you will meet two characters that could be your next door neighbors if you didn’t look hard enough.I recommend this ten novel series, each one is better than the last. Very well written, it’s like a story coming off the pages before your very eyes.

Squire has learned to keep things to himself during his military career and doesn’t open himself to others easily. Kelly struggles with trusting her heart to another man after her ex-husband cheated on her. But working together to trace the whereabouts of the missing money brings them together. This is another fine book by Liz Isaacson. It’s part of the Three Rivers series of contemporary western romances but it can be read as a stand-alone. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The great thing with the Three Rivers / Second Chance stories is that even folks who’ve had some serious bumps in life get new chances at life and love. Some of Isaacson’s characters are young, but have a clear vision for their lives guided by their faith. That’s not this story.A Veteran and a single mom who’ve both tried living their lives as they thought they were meant to both found pain and heartache on the road that led them to each other. They give a love and life together a chance, but not without it being clear that things aren’t perfect and that life and love, even guided by faith, are works in progress.I like and enjoy that they aren’t perfect. They have some magical moments, and some ” what do we do now” moments. If you’re a fan of the imperfect romance, then take a chance to enjoy this book!

Oh I absolutely loved this and was so drawn into the story that I read it in one sitting! I fell in love with the ranch straight off the bat and all of its characters but especially Squire and Kelly. Their story is just fab, with its disagreements, it’s hope, laughter, a few tears, a bit of drama but most of all their love and romance, it just makes you wanna swoon! Straight onto book 2 I go!

I’ve been a fan of this author’s since her very first book, Possession. I don’t believe there’s anything she can’t write, so when I saw she had a new book coming out I had to jump on it.I loved how she was able to write a Christian romance without slapping me in the face with too many God references. I have found that other “inspirational” or “Christian” books can be a bit heavy-handed, but Liz (Elana) introduced the church/God aspect as a matter of fact, daily living sort of thing, which makes it very comfortable to read. It’s not lecture-y or preachy, just a family living through their faith.I also really enjoyed the very real struggle of dating after a divorce, especially with a child involved, which ups the emotional risk. This is a book I will likely read again and I will continue to buy and devour this author’s books as they are released.
Jan –
I did truly enjoy this book. I usually read in stops and starts as life requires. However, I read this one straight through. The story was very good, so far as I was concerned. Small details don’t bother me, except when poor grammar and punctuation are concerned. I would recommend it to anyone who likes cowboy romance, or any kind of romance, but who prefers to avoid the explicit details of romance.

Kelly returns to her home town with her son after her divorce. Her first job is to get a job. Squire Ackerman is the foreman for his father’s ranch. Apparently money is missing, and Kelly has the skills to hopefully find it. The money is in the 7 figures, and there does not seem to be any clue as to when, where, and who made the funds disappear. This is a really good book that is hard to put down to make dinner!

Kelly’s just had her divorce finalized. She’s hurt, mad & is fearful of trusting. Her son, Finn, needs stability so she moves them back to her hometown & in with her loving parents. Now, she needs to find a job to support them both. Squire has just moved back to the ranch after being severely injured during his last deployment to Afghanistan. His dream is to become a veterinarian & work on his family’s farm, caring for all their animals. When Kelly drives out to the farm to apply for the job of their farm’s accountant, Squire’s elated & fearful. He’s known Kelly all their lives as she was his sister’s best friend. What nobody knew was that he’d had a crush on her all those years ago. Kelly’s hired as their accountant & Squire tells her that the farm’s missing well over a million dollars. He can’t enroll in veterinary school & his parents can’t retire until the money’s found. As they reacquaint themselves, getting to know each other as adults, they delve in to trying to find out who embezzled the money & where it’s been hidden. Can they discover who took it? Is it even possible to find the entire amount? See how God uses this to give them a second chance. This is a beautiful romance with a little suspense thrown in that kept me reading when I needed to get up & walk! I’m looking forward to the second book in this series!

loved the mystery angle
I started this series with the First Lady at 3 Rivers. I really liked that as we see both of those mains quite a bit. I loved this story. The setting, the second chances, the ranch, family, and mystery. I honestly am grabbing the next book immediately!

This a well written story and full of surprises. It has some real life happenings in it that a lot of people can relate to. It may help direct some in the direction their lives need to go. Above all, it tells of how God will help anyone who has faith in Him, and talks to Him about their problems they need help and direction with. Great story, I loved it! The only problem was around the middle of the book, every 2nd page was blank. I know there was some important things I missed out on getting to read. Some of those things missing may have helped me to know what was actually being written instead of having to use my imagination so much.

This is only the second book I’ve read from the author, but it’s enough to tell that I am hooked on her books and will hopefully be reading lots more off her writing very soon. I really liked this book, and the romance between the two characters.

There’s trouble on the ranch when Squire returns from the military.
An exciting story with some twists and turns you can’t expect as Squire returns from the military. To his family ranch. He suffers from PTSD and is having trouble adjusting to life back at the ranch. He is smitten when Kelly, a girl he grew up with and had a serious crush on returns to the area. He is troubled and undecided if he wants to pursue her. There’s also a serious problem that needs resolving with the ranch. A very touching love story.
Quiltspinner –
I love horses, cowboys, and romance. The trifecta was perfect in this novel. I was a fast, easy read and kept me guessing who the bad guy was till the end, but it didn’t really let God Hal in the deep ways I had hoped for.God and faith are mentioned but only like religious people mention it, not like true believers who talk to God all the time, who search for answers through their faith. This book just mentions it in passing. For that I didn’t give it 5 stars. Both Squire and Kelly are wounded individuals who only show superficially that they are healed after a trial by fire. There is never the heart condition being gifted to God only a short spoken 1-2 line prayer and then magically they come around. Life usually doesn’t work like that.. change requires work and God’s help. It is a series of steps taken in the right direction.Even with all that I like this author and will read more of her work and recommend it for a light read.
Cindy Nipper –
I enjoyed the audio version of this book!I was especially found of the discussion throughout this book about the affects of the war on the men and women who are fortunate enough to come home! The fears and disabilities, the emotional scars and the guilt brought a realness to this story and the Army Veteran who is our hero!I love when authors, even fiction authors, bring real life issues into their writings! Not to necessarily voice their opinion (although there is a time for that) but for bringing awareness and compassion to these important issues in our world!I really enjoyed the love story as well as the Christian theme of forgiveness all throughout this book! Well done!US Navy Retired MA1(SW) Cynthia M. Nipper

SPURNED HIM 10 YEARS AGO. CAN LOVE COME NOW
Delightful story of a love that ended in divorce. To return home with 4 year old son, Finn, living at home once again. Needing a job, she applies with no experience as a financial controller. Will million lost, how can she even begin to straighten out the mess. Let alone in her life. She didn’t go to prom with Squire 10 years ago, is there a hope for a second chance, or is he still hurt by the rejection ?Delightful, heart warming romance. Given book by author for my honest review.

Sweet fun romance
An interesting sweet good clean best friend’s sister romance. This engaging storyline includes angst, lack of communication, grief, love, suspense, and some bumps along a sweet journey to a HEA. The characters are realistic, both had their trust issues to work thru but find love thru patience and Lord’s way. This beautifully narrated story had me feeling all the emotions adding more life and joy thru every page listened.

Electrifying Read
Kelly & Squire made this book exciting from the beginning. They were friends in high school but Squire felt more than friendship for Kelly. Kelly didn’t know about the feelings since she was older so she moved on with her life. She married & had a child but her husband’s infidelity shattered her & her trust of marriage. Squire went off to war & was severely injured. Squire came home to find his father’s’ ranch was near financial ruin. Kelly was hired as the accountant to find the missing money & both her & Squire had to learn to trust again. The twists & turns of surprises in this book are awesome. Great Read. Awesome Christian book.
Squire is an awesome guy who has some issues stemming from his military service. Kelly and her son come to town to get away from her ex husband. Kelly agrees to do accounting work for the ranch that Squire’s family owns. There are major issues with the books. Squire has liked Kelly since they were young. Love the way that God’s ideas are brought in to this book. Love the small town stories. It is wonderfully written and an awesome love story. The emotions are up and down because both have had troubles in their past. Love this book and can’t wait to read the next book.

Puppy Love & 2nd Chances
Kelly Armstrong is back living in her parent’s basement with her son Finnley after divorcing her cheating husband. She is working at a local grocery store, but needs a better paying job. She has applied to be the accountant at Three Rivers Ranch. As a child she sent to the ranch all the time since her best friend Chelsea lived there. Squire Ackerman has recently returned to the ranch, learning the operations as his parents want to retire. Squire was injured after 2 tours of duty, feels obligated to take over the ranch even though he doesn’t want the ranch. Kelly is hired for the job even though she has no actual experience, but she does have her degree. Squire is hesitant about hiring her because when Kelly was a senior & he was a sophomore he had asked her to the prom & she totally ignored him. Squire has been keeping a secret about the ranch finances from his parents but has to tell Kelly in hopes she can find the missing money. Join Kelly & Squire in their quest to find the missing money, as they come to realize their goals for the their futures, & figure out who they can trust. I enjoyed this story very much. The main characters were well developed & the story flowed well. The downside was a few errors in extra words not needed in sentences. There was a couple places where the wrong character’s name was used or the wrong word was used for a vehicle. I see this a lot in stories when the person is driving a truck & the next sentence says it is a car, then later it is a truck again. Also someone else had the vehicle which made no sense.

Refreshing and delightful.
This subject is one that a lot of ignoring has been done. The plight of our armed forces coming back from war torn areas and the things they have experienced is a plight that this author has taken to heart in this novel. She has shown that their injures may be physical but most always are mental. They are faced with trying to fit back into the life they came from and how hard that is. Combining a very interesting story line with the above mentioned has led to a well written and entertaining book. I look forward to the next book in the series. I recomend this as a very good read.

Love delayed
I just loved how Kelly and Squire had to go through rough times and with God’s grace find each other at a time when they need each other. I loved watching her come to grip with infidelity and divorce, being a single mom learning to trust again and trusting God to direct her path. Squire suffered PTSD, had lingering misunderstanding from high school. He also had to learn to trust and forgive. All this happened while searching for his family’s missing money. I loved that this takes place in a small town and on a ranch. The characters were all so great and I felt like I knew someone like each of them. This was a love, mystery story with a great ending.

Trusted friends steal you blind
PTSD is diverse. I have a neighbor dealing with the after affects of a sociopath mother and daughter. Her greatest enemy is fear. This is not the only issue for the story, trust has been impaired. I’ve read some stories where the PTSD victim can be violent. This was not the case here.

Squire and Kelly
Squire returns home, having been a Major in the military. He has been retired with disabilities. Three River Ranch, was waiting for him but he didn’t know if he wanted to run the ranch. Kelly still paying for a divorce returns home with her four year old son, Finn, to live with her parents. Twin River needed an accountant and Kelly needed a job. This is a mystery-romance. I loved this story from start to finish.

I couldn’t put this book down!
From the first word I was hooked. This story between Kelly & Squire captivated me like no other. I loved how the characters had their own issues and finally came together. Communication is hard, putting yourself out there or in their case, always holding it in. Not once did they talk about what happened to them personally. I find that this is true life. Great Sweet Romance
I’m not much with words, but I did want to say that I really liked the book. Didn’t really care that some of the detail were incorrect, didn’t impact the story as most people like myself didn’t know them. Loved the characters and the drama and not knowing who did it basically. Just bought the whole 14 book series. Looking forward to the next book.

Loved this book!
Liz Isaacson is definitely a new favourite author for me. I liked both Squire and Kelly fairly quickly, and Squire’s connection with animals was one aspect of this novel that I appreciated. A mystery at Kelly’s new job also had me intrigued, and Squire’s past warring with his uncertainty over the future provided good conflict to keep this story moving at the right pace.I loved that Squire and Kelly were neither swooning over each other every second nor bickering every moment together – there was a mix of good and upsetting times for them, which served to make their story realistic.

Second Chances
You can fall in love and be hurt. Then years down the road find that love is still strong. You just have to get beyond that hurt. A very good story showing that yes, first love doesn’t always die. There’s a bit of mystery here and some danger. A good read.

Trying again
One never really thinks about the trauma the men and women in the military go through, and the difficulty of returning to civilian life. Squire came home with a permanent physical injury, but his emotional state is what kept him from truly embracing the possibilities of a life with Kelly. An emotional journey to love for both.

Favorite Places
It is very easy for me to like stories that center around ranches, farms, and horses. All the better if they are timed in the 19th century or early 20th century. A contemporary story has to prove itself more, even with the rural settings. This one presented itself nicely, holding my attention and sympathies quite readily, a great read on the kind of evenings when a person wants to relax with a book and not be stressed out by intensely serious plots and intrigue.

I loved all of it!
There are alot of reviews telling what the story is all about so I don’t need to add to those. All I will say is that I love this series and this book and everything this author has written. I really liked the characters and their story. It was a story of God’s faithfulness and healing. The storyline was realistic and intriguing. It is amazing how misunderstanding and misconstrued events create unnecessary obstacles and wounds. The inclusion of contemporary events added depth and interest. The courage to face the truth and trust one another in Him brings healing… God is worthy of our trust because He is always faithful.

Clean Christian story with no sex or bad language
This is a clean, second-chance romance between a woman who has been through an acrimonious divorce and a man who was in the service and came home with a rod in his leg and PTSD. Squire Ackerman is trying to save the family ranch without telling his dad how bad their finances are. His father hires Kelly as the accountant, hoping she can get the books straightened up. Kelly is Squire’s sister’s friend, who is a few years older than he is and the girl he had a crush on in high school. As they go through all the records, which are a mess, they find out there is over 1 million dollars missing. Some twists and turns in the story, with mystery and danger along the way. They find out they are blaming the wrong person for the financial problem and things escalate from there.I like the chemistry between the two main characters and how things are resolved in the end.

Most enjoyable and clean Christian romance – highly recommend!
I like to read for relaxation and enjoyment. As such, it is refreshing and enjoyable to read a good, clean, Christian romance with likable, well developed characters and plot. I totally enjoyed Second Chance Ranch by Liz Isaacson. This is the first of a multi book series that can certainly be read as a standalone novel. Based on how well I enjoyed this, I do plan to read more, and soon. Thanks for a sweet and good clean story! Well done!

Great read.
I really liked the book. It was a sweet romance that was more “real-life” to me because the relationship progressed at a slower, more realistic pace. The characters were giving each other time to cope with past issues and heal to have a stronger relationship. It had a great focus on trust in relationships, which, again, seemed very true-to-life. Also, being aware that a relationship is not just about the two people but also about kids involved. Overall, I really liked the book—romance but not over-the-top. And some mention of church but again, not over-the-top. I would definitely recommend this book.

Great book
Great book. Nice plot twist. Shows the importance of not keeping secrets from those you love. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Intriguing, heartwarming, lovely!
Loved the book!! Could certainly understand the fears that plagued the two main characters. Very well written, and planned out. A little mystery, a sense of a serene relationship with God without being overdone, and a nice romance. Although, in real life the characters would probably have needed more time to sort through their fears, I can understand it needed to be dealt with quickly for the purpose of the story. Can’t wait to read the other books in the series!! Pete already has me intrigued!!

Wonderful Story

This is a good re-read after four years.
This was my first introduction to Liz Isaacson more than four years ago. I have read all of the Second Chance Ranch Series and just recently started to re-read just because I like her writing. It is worth revisiting.

Sparks fly
Squire doesn’t want to be stuck on his parents ranch … even less so when the girl he had a crush on as a teenager is employed as the accountant. Kelly is desperate for a job and a new start after the betrayal and divorce of her ex. And she has her precious son to look after. Neither of them need a missing 1.6million, and the desperate search they have to go on together to find it. But along the way sparks fly. ..I loved the story of Kelly and Squire, about being true to yourself about what you want and the sacrifices we make for those we love. This was a great read and I recommend it!

Great story showing the main characters healing from past traumas while relying on God for direction for their lives. The mystery of the missing money was resolved. Since the thief was a surprise to me, it kept me reading.well written with the HEA expected.

Fun to read western romance
I could not put this book down for more than a few minutes. I have read Elana Johnson’s YA sci-fi books (Possession is the first one in the series), and loved them. I was super excited to find out she has written this romance, and it exceeded my expectations even though I had set them high. Liz (aka Elana) is such a great writer, so I knew it would be good. What I especially liked is her characterizations; I could see each one of them, even minor characters, and just fell in love with their personalities. I could visualize the descriptions of places and situations, of emotions, and pacing. Thank you for excellence again!

Never make assumptions
Kelly newly divorced with a 4 year old son moves back home and gets a job at the ranch she spent most of her time at with her best friend. She ends up working with Squire her best friends brother whose heart she broke unintentionally. Squire is honorably discharged from the Army after being severely injured in a bomb blast. There is immediate attraction but they need to work out trust issues from the past to move forward. A very sweet story with a good plot.

Fantastic read
Author Liz Isaacson offers up a military/cowboy hero. The book has plenty of action, mystery about missing money, healing of past hurts and of course romance! You’ll enjoy getting to know more about a couple who had secret crushes on one another in high school. Now as adults they both have returned to their hometown and Three Rivers Ranch.

Trust your instincts
Squire is back at the ranch on an honorable discharge from the army. He’d expected to be career army or a veterinarian not learning to manage his family ranch so his parents can retire. He struggles with mixed feelings for Kelly when she returns to Three Rivers and starts work as the ranch accountant. They work together to discover what happened to the missing sales records for the last 5 years and over a million missing dollars. Both turn to God to guide the their futures. Sweet, clean romance with a mystery to solve.

Heartbreak and Loss
This book is fast paced and well written. Kelly meets up with an old flame, with big misunderstandings on both of their parts With God’s help, Kelly learns to forgive after her divorce. 1.6 million dollars seems to have been stolen. It’s quite a surprise when that mystery is solved, culminating in terrifying events.

Overcoming the past
What a captivating story about how the events of the past can cloud one’s life. But God has a way of guiding one into the tutu leading to the bright future HE desires : plans for a hope and a future. Such was the case for Kelly and Squire in this tender novel.

Sweet romance
The story moved smoothly with very little grammatical or editorial errors which made for pleasant reading. It’s nice to read a romance without vulgarity or graphic sex.

So glad I found this series!
I am making my way through this 14 book series, and couldn’t be happier. It is very well written, the author has a great concept of what makes the western way of life “tick”, and each of the books I’ve read so far keeps you reading far longer than you should…or intended to!Another plus: Just good clean romance, no steamy bedroom scenes you have to skip over, and down to life content that centers on faith and respect for your fellow man. What’s not to like?

When a cowboy needs more than his horse, his dog, and his truck
An old friendship may not be enough to overcome damaged hearts, minds and bodies. Squire has returned to his family’s ranch, but his heart is not there anymore. Newly divorced Kelly needs a good accounting job to support her young son. Old memories may bring back their friendship, or drive an icy wedge between them. Another intriguing clean read from Liz Izaacson.

One of those can’t put it down book.
I really enjoyed this book and am in the process of reading the rest of the books in this series. The author keeps you entertained and wanting to see what happens next. I also enjoyed the Christian aspect of the book and not having all of the sexual moments. I can’t wait to read other series she has written when I am done with this series.

Second chances snd forgiveness
Second Chance is definitely a good title for this book! Squire is suffering from PTSD from the war in Afghanistan and trying to find his way to what he really wants to do. Kelly is finding her new normal after a divorce from a cheating spouse. They’ve known each other since they were kids, but both have lessons to learn about forgiveness, both for others and for themselves.

Great cowboy romance
I won’t go through the plot—there’s enough other people who do that. But I love finding an author who knows horses and their little idiosyncrasies and mannerisms. (Other than having a stallion be calm and friendly standing next to a mare, which, in my lifetime of horses, isn’t pl’audible.) And I love the level of spirituality in here–every day, rely on God but don’t have to blasted all over the place. It makes it enjoyable to read without being preached at. The two main characters are believable and there’s great romantic tension besides the other plot stuff. Heading for the next in the series now.

Exciting, Clean Contemporary Romance
I really enjoyed this book. I love it when second chances work out! Plenty of horses, wide open spaces, and clean romance. The characters are wonderful and I loved the interactions between all of the players. There is mystery and intense scenes between the villain and the heroes. I felt like I was there trying to figure things out. I highly recommend this book and author. Happy Reading!

Very enjoyable, surprise ending
I was given a free copy for my honest review. While I may have received a free copy this was a book I was looking to purchase when the opportunity came up. I love this series and this author. I don’t have long periods of time to read, I read a few minutes each day but this book was one I didn’t want to put down. I really enjoy the characters and feeling like I am there. I like the small amount of mystery, the second chance at love and how they all have something to learn or grow from. A very enjoyable read, you will get hooked just like I did.

A good read.
I loved reading this book. Liz captured so many details in this story. For one the struggles of dealing with PTSD after serving in a war zone. Second is the bond formed by Squire & the men who served with him. Also, the therapy provided with & through the horses. Liz does a great job of describing how the horses help Squire & Pete deal with their PTSD. Mixed in this story is hope, romance, struggles & triumph! I enjoyed this book so much that I had to read the rest of them in the series.

Everyone Needs a “Second Chance Ranch”
Loved this book! I generally read a book over a two week period by choice and some due to time constraints. However with “Second Chance Ranch”, I really didn’t want to put it down. The story is not only heartwarming but one you can relate to for any age group. I never mind predictable, light reading, but don’t be misled, this story is not as predictable as you might guess. Keep reading; you will like the unexpected twists. It is always nice to finish a book wanting more and missing your new friends. I recommend this book!

A must read
I loved this story. Kelly was afraid to fall in love again. Squire was always in love with Kelly and afraid that she would not be in love with him.It was good to see how they worked together, she managed to get Squire to think about going back to school to do what he really wanted to do.They really worked hard on finding out who was stealing the parents money, I figured out in the beginning who was taking the money, it looks like it was the accountant, and he was dead, and no way to prove his innocence. Kelly really loved the life on the ranch, but she had a son that she had to think about, but the son loved Squire soon after he met him and Squire found out that he love being with the little boy. Happy that it worked out for them both and can’t wait to read when they return back to the ranch.

I so enjoyed this book
I so enjoyed this book, even though there were some sad scenes in it. We certainly need to be more thankful for our military people who are serving our country for OUR good. Do we always thank them? NO. Isn’t it just like us to assume something and let it affect our lives for years because we don’t discuss it. Kelly and Squire both tormented themselves because the could not talk about their past. But it worked out so beautifully in the end. A really, really good read. Just can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Great second-chance Christian romance
I loved this inspirational romance about misunderstandings and forgiveness. When Kelly is newly divorced, she moves back to her parent’s home with her four-year-old son, Finn, where they have a basement apartment. It’s a rural community so she was lucky to find a job as an accountant at Three Rivers Ranch. Kelly had spent many hours at the ranch when she was growing up since her best friend lived there. Her friend’s slightly younger brother had always had a crush on Kelly and asked her to the prom but she didn’t go with him. He was humiliated and never forgot her rejection even though he never stopped wanting her. Now that Kelly is working at the ranch, Squire is her boss. Awkward. Both of them have had difficult times since they last saw each other. Kelly found out her husband had another woman and Squire came back from the military with a physical injury and PTSD. While he really wanted to be a veterinarian, he returned to the ranch as foreman so his parents could retire. But when he found that 1.6 million dollars was missing from the ranch he didn’t tell his parents so as not to upset them. The first thing he wanted Kelly to do was find the money.I loved the writing style of Ms. Isaacson in this book. It was written clearly in a way that I could feel the attraction between Kelly and Squire so that I was routing for them to get over their trust issues and get together. Squire was so good with Finn. It was easy to picture the three of them as a family. While this was a Christian romance it wasn’t preachy. These people clearly believed God would guide them and asked for His help often. I really enjoyed these characters and their story so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Great read!
Second Chance Ranch is my first book by Liz Isaacson and what a pleasant surprise. Ms Isaacson has delivered a well written book with awesome characters. Kelly and Squire’s story is loaded with suspense, action, humor and spice. I really enjoyed this story from start to finish and look forward to reading more from Liz Isaacson in the future. Second Chance Ranch is book 1 of the Three Rivers Ranch Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Review for Second Chance Ranch by Liz Isaacson
I really enjoyed reading this book. Kelly and Squire were destined to be together. After many years of not seeing each other, Squire in the military and Kelly being married both are now back at Three Rivers Ranch. After being hurt while in the Middle East, Squire came back to the ranch to takeover running the ranch for his father. Squire discovered alot of money missing. Kelly moved back home with her son and is staying with her parents until she gets on her feet after divorcing her cheating ex husband. With the money missing it was decided to hire an accountant. Kelly accepted the position. Both have trust issues to overcome. And so the story goes forward from here.. I don’t want to spoil by telling any more about the book. It really is a good read. Liz did an awesome writing this book!! Can’t wait to read the other books in the series.

Come laugh and cry
This story started out stilted, but with Kelly coming back to the ranch to do the books. She was the one who spurned him in high school. It felt right that it was stilted. The story eases into a different kind of relationship between Squire and Kelly. It grows beyond friendship to romance and a new understanding. There are times I feel sorry for Squire, but the next thing I know, he does something absolutely male stupid. It’s one of my favorites in this series.

Second Chance Ranch has something for everyone who loves romance
Second Chance Ranch is a wonderful, inspirational western romance. There are modern day cowboys, an old high school romance, war vets struggling with PTSD, church picnics, bad guys in black hats, a small-town beauty shop for gossip, and even small children and puppies! The author brings all of this together masterfully to create a story that I could not put down. The characters were well-developed and there was a bit of unexpected suspense to top it all off. Well done!

Can’t wait for books 2 and 3 to be released!
What a way to start this new trilogy! If books 2 and 3 are as great as book 1 than I won’t be disappointed. I loved Kelly and Squire’s story. It was well developed as was the characters. It held my interest from the very beginning until the very end. It had its twist and turns that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I also love Finn, Kelly’s young son. What a cutie! I highly recommend this book. I was happy to read that the next book will be Pete’s story. I’m anxiously waiting for its release.

You get much more than you paid for!
I really didnt expect too much from the book since the price was so low. Wow was I wrong! This was beautifully written, & I fell in love with all the characters including the horses. It was incredibly sweet & heartfelt…I found myself rereading several parts in the book.. The Christian undertones were not overly preachy, but subtle enough that any body could enjoy it. Simply put, this is one of the best series I have come across in a very long time.

Love the start to this series

Liz sure knows how to spin romance as she introduces Squire and Kelly again after many years. He has returned from ten years of military service and sustaining a debilitating injury which he tries to hide. Kelly is newly divorced with a young son. They know each other from high school days when Squire asked her to her senior prom and used a balloon bouquet to ask her. Unfortunately, she never found his request which led to animosity on both sides. Find out how things work out when she returns to work on the ranch he owns and he will be her boss. Their association becomes quite a happening.

it was amazing
Liz is very skillful at building a tale with people who are less than perfect or have great difficulties in their lives. The trick to do is to work things out without too much angst. Our ranch owner is in need of retirement after many years working this successful ranch, but Squire has to find out where much of the money has disappeared to. With the help of a new accountant, Kelly, since the last one has left, hopefully, they will be successful before the ranch falls into disrepair and bankruptcy. It has it’s ups and downs, like all of life, but with the proper outlook through a spiritual belief system is sound, it will drive the force to victory. All is not what is seems at first glance, but continue on and reap the rewards. Beautiful writing and very resourceful manipulations.

Wounded warriors have a special place in my heart so this book resonated with me. I love that it includes a bit of humor but includes suspense as well. Past rejection and betrayal make a HEA a little difficult but this author knows how to make it happen.
