Description
Joy Bartlett needs a blueprint before she takes a single step in any direction. She loves seeing what she’s getting into before committing, and moving 1200 miles from Texas to South Carolina just because half of her Supper Club has doesn’t mean she’s going to start packing boxes.
She is terribly lonely in Sweet Water Falls without Bea, Cass, and Lauren, and as another member of their monthly dinner party gets ready to leave Texas in the rear-view mirror, Joy starts creating her own blueprint.
After all, she doesn’t want a Blueprint for Survival.
She wants a beach blueprint.
One that lays out how her life will look and feel, right down to the tiny nooks and crannies if she decides to uproot herself and leave her family and her heritage and join her friends on Hilton Head Island.
There is a strong influence in her life, pulling her toward the beach and island life: a sexy, strong landscaper named Scott Anderson. He’s asked her out several times, but Joy has turned him down every time.
When she hears that he’s going to take someone else to dinner, the thought flies against everything in Joy’s baby beach blueprint – because Scott’s a big player in that. So she texts him and makes it clear that she doesn’t want him to go out with anyone…except her.
Thus, a long-distance relationship between Joy and Scott begins, and Joy’s blueprint starts to get messy. Very messy.
Can she figure out how to arrange all of the pieces in her life in a way that makes sense? Or will she find herself cut off from everyone who’s ever been important to her?

Loved the book and it’s characters. Scott and Joy made a lovely couple. Loved the way Joy who came from an abusive marriage was able to open her heart to Scott and become part of a loving relationship. Recommend this book to everyone.

Great story
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
Scott is so wonderful. He is patient and supportive, and clearly telegraphs his feelings for her.
Joy is so insecure. She needs to study her blueprint before taking the next step so she’s sure it’s the right step. This idea of moving South Carolina was not part of her original plans. Add this new romance..
I love that the main characters’ friends and (most of) their families are so supportive.
I closed the book with a happy smile.

This is such a fantastic addition to this wonderful series. I love the wonderful characters in this series, and the storyline that seems so real. I love this story of Scott and Joy, I also like how Joy really put thought into what she was doing and not moving to quick, but I was so excited when she finally figured out how she really felt about Scott. I love how we get to hear about all the friends throughout this book as well as the others in this series. And I felt even more into this story as I have just returned from my trip to Hilton Head Island, Beaufort and Savannah all mentioned in this book. I highly recommend this story; it is so wonderful and draws you in.

Another wonderful read by Elena Johnson!!
I have been blessed to have had the true friendship of several women just like the women of the Supper Club. We too have experienced the highs and lows of life together and apart as two of our four have moved away.
This increases the enjoyment I’ve been having getting to know each character and their unique personalities, watching them navigate life and unexpected events, yet maintaining the love and loyalty they have for each other. They comfort one another through heartache, and cheer each other on in relationships and achievements. Elena portrays all of this so very well, as if you too are a part of the Club.
So come along this time as Joy tries to make “plans” for the future by creating a Beach Blueprint!! Then, if you haven’t already read them, go back and start at the beginning to read the other three books in the Hilton Head Island series!!

Scott and Joy have been on one roller coaster of a life ride. It’s amazing but pretty much the same thing happened to me. I was dating a girl for a year and came down with a throat virus, so I asked my best friend at the time to please call her and let her know I could go out iver the weekend. Well he called her alright and continued to do so, eventually marrying her. My wife’s ex-husband treated her about the same as Wendell did Joy. When Joy came into Scott’s life he knew for sure almost immeadeatly she was the one. When my wife came back to town I knew for sure she was the one, so this story really hit home for me, Thank You Elana for an AWESOME JOB WRITING. We all want things in life to go as planned or have our own blueprint for life but honest to goodness love can and will throw a monkey wrench into our plans. Joy’s friends of The Supper Club were true friends and confidants we should all have friends like them. I have absolutely loved this book.

I absolutely love the supper club women!
Joy’s story is just another wonderful example of women in their later years finding out that they’re more than what they thought and that it’s never too late to find a new love.
The beautiful friendships of these women are something I’ve craved all of my life!
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it gets a little confusing/distracting when there’s so much going on with the other ladies instead of just the main characters of this particular story.
I still highly recommend this book/series as well as anything else written by Elana Johnson!

The fourth installment in Elana Johnson’s delightful Hilton Head Island series, this book follows a group of 40/50-something ladies who forged a strong bond when they started a Supper Club back in Sweet Water, TX. As they begin to migrate to Hilton Head, you can almost hear the ocean waves rolling as you immerse yourself in the story. I’ve enjoyed each of the books in this series, and this one didn’t disappoint. Elana Johnson’s characters are so warm and so real that you’d like to jump into the story and join their Supper Club yourself. She has a way of inviting you into the story, and whether the characters are teens or older adults or somewhere in between, they are endearing and with the help of their friends, they always work through their issues in time for the happily ever after ending. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series! I received this book as an ARC reader and this is my honest opinion.

You want to grab your sunblock, coverup and beach towel and join these these ladies who are a little more seasoned, with grown kids and pain in their past, as they face life and new love head on. Their Supper Club is to die for but it’s their love and support through all that makes you want to pull up a chair. Joy’s previous marriage was worse than loveless and it’s taken a lot out of her, but Scott has caught her eye. The problem is the hunky landscaper lives 1200 miles away on Hilton Head island where many of her Supper Club friends have moved. For her to even think of moving is a giant step and she wants a plan in place. Scott has his own demons to face behind his ready smile and booming laugh. You’ll love joining this group of friends that is more than friends- they’re family.
Clean. I received it as an ARC

As a planner, I could relate to Joy’s desire to have a clear blueprint for her life as she considered the possibility of leaving her kids and all that was familiar behind in order to join her friends in Hilton Head, SC. One important piece of the puzzle was her relationship with Scott whom she had been talking with daily online for months and where was that going? I really enjoyed watching Joy figure things out and decide just how much of a blueprint was necessary before she could take the leap and make a permanent move. My favorite parts of the book (and the series) concerned the relationships between the women in the supper club. Oh to have such a wonderful group of friends who have become chosen family! This author really knows how to bring a sense of family to life. I can’t wait for Bessie’s story in the next book (please hurry Elana). Highly recommend! I received an ARC and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.

What a heartwarming and interesting story! I love a good girl friends book because we all need our friends to support us. The love story was also very endearing in a clean and positive way. So romantic!! I can’t wait to read the next one!

Another great book in this series. It is very enjoyable and very emotional, at least for me. It is great to have such great friends that you know you can always depend on to be there when you need them and for the fun times, too. It was wonderful that Joy found a man who would truly love her. A must read series!

This book was engaging and a good summer book. Beaches are a great place to lay your head and soak in the summer sun of a refreshing book.
