Description
After narrowly escaping indictments herself, Lauren finds herself, at age 43, standing in the parking lot of her office building, a box with a stapler, a sad plant, and a couple of photos as her only companions.
She needs a new strategy, and she decides she can map everything out from the beaches of Hilton Head.
It’s not an exit strategy.
It’s a seaside strategy.
Relax more. Worry less. Find out what she really wants in her life.
While trying to do that, all with the ocean breeze and her friends for support, Lauren meets Blake Williams. The man is movie-star gorgeous, witty, and looking for someone to help him run his successful financial planning business on the island.
But Lauren doesn’t want to work for him, especially not in strategic investments. She’s had enough of the high-profile, corporate life.

Inspiring
This was an inspiring story, you learn Lauren’s story and what made her the way she is. In her Seaside Strategy she comes up with a plan to make her life better. Losing her job the way she did would have demoralized a person but she uses it to better herself. I loved her and Blake’s story. Blake makes some bad choices but redeemed himself each time. This is a book to read this summer. I still want friends like the supper club. They make you laugh and cry. An inspirational story that I would recommend. Cannot wait for Joy’s story.

Really Great Series
I’m totally enjoying this series and getting to know the women of the Supper Club. I had been waiting for Lauren and Blake to get their story and Elana Johnson did not disappoint. I love how her characters come alive on the pages and you feel like you know them. A captivating read that I read straight through.

Everyone needs a strategy
Lauren is a planner, never been married, big shot at a corporate entity and not sure where she fits anymore. Half of her friends are in Hilton Head and the other half back in Texas, but she’s drawn to a certain handsome man in Hilton Head so she decides to bite the bullet, buy a house and relocate her life. During this time, her company gets closed down by the FBI for embezzlement and fraud. Whatever is a girl to do?Blake is single, having divorced his ex years ago, although they get along great. They have a thirteen year old son who spends time with both. Blake is taken with Lauren and she with him, so when she decides to make the move, he plays a prominent role in that decision. The women’s Supper Club is a bit topsy turvy as well, meeting in Texas sometimes and in Hilton Head at others. The women are very close and it seems like they gravitate toward each other as natural as family. They are all very supportive of Lauren’s decision, even when she sells her Texas house and makes the move permanent. In the meantime, she’s developing a relationship with Blake’s son and the three are starting to feel like the family Lauren has never had.Once again our author delves into relationships and friendships among women in a very special way. I loved how this book ended, but you have to read it to find out more. The perfect summer beach read.

Loved it!
Lauren had a rough childhood and it taught her that she needs to make plans and execute them well because she is the only one she can depend on. It was working pretty well for her until all of a sudden, it wasn’t. Handsome and charming Blake has already learned that life is messy and sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned. I loved their story of learning to understand and lean on one another. There were lots of sparks and romantic kisses. I also really have enjoyed the ongoing stories of the ladies in the supper club that run throughout the series. Their friendships are inspirational. Loved the book! I received an ARC from the author and this voluntary reviews contains my honest opinions.

Such a good read!
This is such a good read. This time we meet Lauren who thinks that everything in her world is great when all of a sudden BaM it’s not and everything is turned upside down. So what do you do when you need to figure things out? You head to the seaside and your friends for help in sorting everything out. Whilst there she meets Blake who runs a successful business on the island and is so impressed with her that he offers her a job but it isn’t what she wants is it? It’s a wonderful read, it’s sweet, it’s fun and I very much enjoyed it.

Great story!
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author. The relationships seem realistic and the situations they find themselves in all too common. There’s a bit of drama from the couple, but also a lot of believable romance.Lauren hides her insecurity pretty well, but somehow Blake sees it. As their friendship grows and deepens he understands her fears and her coping mechanisms and doesn’t let her pull away. He tells her with actions first and then words that he loves and values her… and it’s exactly what she needs. She, in turn, loves him and his son… all in. She accepts them as a bundle and that the boy’s needs sometimes come first… even if she has to fight off her insecurities first. 🙂

Part of a series
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Lauren Keller moved to Hilton Head Island, but when she was called back to Texas by her boss she found the company in disarray and her job gone and narrowly escaping indictments herself. Her boyfriend Blake Williams also has his own problems with his ex-wife’s boyfriend being nasty to his son. The plot features trust, self-concept, and fighting for family. An interesting and heartwarming book.

Friendship, romance and sunsets
Another good read from Hilton Head. This series of best friends in their middle to late forty’s. They have raised their children, been through divorce, lost a spouse or hadn’t found the right one yet. This story is focused mainly on Lauren. She is a career woman that had never had a man sway her like Blake did. But she lives in Texas and he lived in S. Carolina. When a shocking event happened with her job, she was at a loss. The sweet romance is filled with life changing decisions, custody battles, and many tender moments. I encourage you to read these books in the order written, and follow these wonderful friends as they navigate change that comes with everyday living. Well written and very engaging 4.5 stars

Great story
Another great story from the supper club. Lauren is dealt a big blow when the company she has worked for is shut down because of embezzlement. She keeps it from her friends because she doesn’t want to spoil Cass’s wedding. She decides to give Blake Williams another chance and things heat up quickly. Lauren tends to close off when things get difficult and has a hard time believing she is worthy of love. Blake is loving and patient and able to break down her walls. It is so sweet to watch these “older” women find love. I look forward to Joy’s journey to happily ever after.

This book has one of the most unexpected beginnings
This book has one of the most unexpected beginnings, but Lauren needed something drastic to spark changes in her life. And for me, that felt like the theme of Lauren and Blake’s story: change. All the ways it happens, how we handle it, (or don’t handle it,) and the good and bad things that can come from it. I enjoyed this pairing. I particularly liked seeing them building their new family unit around Blake’s son. It both hurt my heart and drove me completely batty to watch Lauren battle the demons in her own mind that told her to leave before she was left. I was so glad to witness the truly adorable ending they were able to achieve, and I can’t wait to see what this has set the stage for next.I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

More from the Supper Club!!
This is book 3 in the series and I love how the author is featuring one of the women in each book, yet she continues to develop the story about the rest of the group as well. Having been a part of a group of friends like this, I can really relate to some of the changes happening in their lives. They gather to celebrate the good things as well as support each other the best they can during the hard times. They feel the loss and separation when someone moves away.Lauren, who is featured in this book, struggles with trusting others to not let her down and finds it easier to be self reliant than to be vulnerable. Thankfully, Blake comes to realize this and doesn’t let her withdraw completely the second time he disappoints her by not showing up for a date. Life is hard at times, but thankfully by standing together and open honest communication they get through to the good times.Though I did receive this book as an Advanced Reader Copy, this is my honest and completely voluntary review.

Life gets messy, maybe together they can manage it all
This definitely is a mix of woman’s fiction and beach romance, even if she never gets wet at the beach. The Supper Club ladies have all been married before and had children except for Lauren, she’s the successful career woman. That is until she steps into her office that’s been ransacked and met by federal agents questioning her on whether she’s is on a huge embezzlement scheme there. With her professional life bottomed out, her summer getaway on Hilton Head island looks much more attractive year long. But Cass is getting married and she really doesn’t want to go alone and Blake’s name comes up in contacts. He stood her up the year before because of his son and he was sure he had lost his chance, so he’s more than willing to play along as her arm candy and wants a chance at more. Lauren has issues behind the gorgeous, put together facade she shows the world and it’s hard to make herself vulnerable to have a relationship, especially when life gets messy which it does. She retreats and puts up walls keeps trying to wall off Blake. As he starts to understand her, he’s willing to keep tearing down her walls, especially when she connects with his struggling teenage son. This is no fairytale, but real and messy and complicated, as life is. Lauren strategy for Hilton Head is to relax and find herself, can there maybe be the family she never really had there too? There are adult conversations here but that’s all it is, conversations so it stays in the sweet and wholesome category.I received this as an ARC and it’s fun watching these friends overcome adversity and find happiness with the support of each other.

However, after they search her phone, they conclude that she wasn’t involved in this. She goes back to Hilton Head and runs into Blake. They have met before, but now she is interested in him. I loved this book! As a strategist and list maker myself, I could relate to a woman who creates a strategy and uses it to guide her every move but then realizes that there are strategies that can be altered, revised, or reversed without giving up on who she is and can find hppiness and acceptance for who she is. The underlying themes df step-parenting, dealing with exes and friends who may not understand, but are there anyway, gives all of us hope. Her fear of sharing, even with her friends is something many of us struggle with, but can overcome everything, after all, isn’t that what we all long for? Love and acceptance. Great job!

I know it would be better to read the books in order but they can be read as stand-alone books. I’ve read many of Ms. Johnson’s books and this is one of my favorites! I received an ARC of this book and this is my unbiased, voluntary review.

This is such a wonderful series; I am loving the Supper Club. I love hearing about all of their lives and friendships. Lauren has never been married and is very focused on her career until something shocking happens to her. She is a woman who liked to strategize everything in her life. Blake owns his own business and has a teenage son. Elana has such a way with character building and making stories so real to life. I loved how Lauren and Blake both grew so that they could fall in love. I really love the relationship between Lauren and Blake’s son. I haven’t read a book by Elana that I didn’t love!
